Deeply Felt

Dear Great Gran,
last weekend we visited a felt and ceramic exhibition at a farmhouse that has been renovated into an art gallery. The works were by a friend, Bridget Nicholson. Here an art critic inspects a large striped felt work hanging from the tree.
And here two critics examine another hanging piece that resembles a kangaroo hide.
Judging from their expressions, it looks as if the critics opinions are divided about that one.
This next one is a smaller mutli-coloured work inside the old farmhouse.
We provided the next photo, as we expect that the Boolarra wool group will have a keen interest in the details.
One of the enjoyable things about visiting a farmhouse-turned-gallery was seeing a teenager climb up onto one of the metal sculptures so she could mount her horse! Another fun thing was that one of the sheep who "donated" the wool for the exhibition was in attendance at the official opening.

The view from here

Dear Great Gran,

The magnificent view from the top of Mt Oberon was wasted on at least one member of our hiking party.

Sun, wind and approaching rain clouds gave the panorama a heightened sense of drama.

The marsupial did wake up for lunch on the way down the hill and could enjoy seeing some of the bushfire regrowth.

We captured a rare view of this little marsupial looking wide awake on the walk to Sealers Cove. Perhaps the little creature had overhead her Mum talking about how we always get leeches at this creek crossing?

Lunch at Sealers was both sunny and lightly drizzling at the same time. The striped woolly marsupial is sporting matching overalls and beanie made by Morma Sue (working title only) with pom-pom made by Great Auntie Karen. As you can imagine, there was no shortage of grand parents, great aunts and uncles (both biological and adopted) during the week in the lodge.

And on the second weekend there was a visit by the other biological grand parents, Colin and Lorraine, and adopted Greek grandmother, Maria. Here the three visitors and Ruth pose at our Lilly Pilly Gully lunch spot.

As with the views from Oberon, you can see that the lunch banquet and company was also wasted on one member of the hiking party.
