Dear Great Gran,
thanks again for hosting Ruth's birthday party.
Maybe next year she won't need help with the candle?













You can see below that she really enjoyed trying out her birthday present from Gran and Pa which Grumpa hung from the blackwood tree.


















Ruth enjoyed helping herself from the bucket when she went raspberry picking with Sue, Julie and I yesterday. I didn't mind the mess she was making because I couldn't see it!

The Hair Apparent

Dear Great Gran,

Julie and I have ben enjoying eating lots of fresh local cherries, peaches and nectarines lately. Ruth also seems to enjoy eating them - but only after she has squeezed them to pulp, ripped them to shreds, chased them around a bit, painted with them, stuck them in her ear and behind her head etc. etc Her hair colour is still the subject of some debate, however I suspect it gets most of its red-orange colour from natural fruit dyes.














Last week we went down the coast for a maths conference. Ruth and I didn't do much maths - but we did have fun frolicing with the fauna...














..and swimming with Julie in the still-cold-from-winter water (with no wetsuit for the poor baby!)...













..and going for walks and exploring caves...

...but Ruth enjoyed playing in the warm rockpools the most.
