Cousins

Dear Great Gran,

Julie's cousin Karen visited recently, with husband Dave and 10 month old Zac.
Here you can compare the relative hairiness of cousins Zac, Ruth and Jack.

Zac and Jack are pretty fast quadrapeds as is another of Ruth's cousins, Momo.

I feel I need to explain that Ruth only gapes like a stunned mullet when the camera comes out. OK, perhaps not only when the camera comes out - but it is certainly very hard to take a photo of her wearing any another expression! To illustrate the point, here Ruth is with Joseph, the other cousin she has been spending time with lately.

Alfresco Gumming

Dear Great Gran,
you can see Ruth did not have to wait long until the next grandparents arrived. Here she is al-fresco gumming on a piece of apple. Sue was poised to intercept the apple in case it tried to make a sudden leap for freedom.
Today after lunch at Sean and Sandra's place, Ruth demonstrated to her hosts how to sit up without assistance. I suspect that all the playing with new toys meant she was too preoccupied to remember to fall over.
It was a lovely sunny day, so we also walked up the hill behind their house. As you can see, Jack and Sam insisted on equal treatment to Ruth and so they were carried the entire way up to the top. (In their dreams.)
How many months do you think it will be before Ruth has more teeth than Sam?
