Big Snails & Big Mates

Do nonagenarian's use the internet still? I hope so, because I've just found Cherie's camera photos from Easter. Here Ruth rides the snail like a true cowgirl although she cannot yet lift her hat in the air with one hand and shout "Yee-ha Grandma".
Here Ruth gives her mate Vida a push on the bike around the backyard.
And here Ruth is with another big mate on a short bushwalk to the Bendora Arboretum at Easter. Don't feel too sorry for Julie - think instead of how fit she was getting.
I'm thinking of starting a caption competition for the next photo. Any suggestions?

The Return of the Green Dwarf

Dear Great Gran,
a frosty early morning visit to the market saw last winter's green jumpsuit comeout again.
It's a a fraction small now though - so we are trying out new outdoor wear for this winter. Ruth likes the mittens (she tries to say "mitts" and "tap" before clapping them together).
This was on a bushwalk to square rock before easter in Namadgi National Park - the daytime weather has been glorious although it has become very dry again over the last 2 months.
Here Ruth "helps" me take down the shadecloth outside the living area . Luckily, it was designed for one-hand-demounting.
And she sure gets tired after all of the above adventures. Some babies cuddle teddy bears when they sleep - our baby cuddles books about bears. I can't help but feel this is a sad reflection on her parents.
And I can't help but be a little superstitious about what makes her sleep well (particularly at 4 in the morning)- so I think everyone should focus their mental telepathies of this next image and project peaceful-sleeping-baby-for-10-hours-a-night thoughts towards Ruth. It's worth a try.

In Good Standing

Dear Great Gran,

Your great granddaughter usually enjoys unpacking boxes and drawers and spreading them out over the room and house. Lately, however she has shown more interest in putting things away...
Here she even tidied up herself! Now that really is a big help!
She has also been enjoying cruising the backyard on her new set of wheels a.k.a. the "bus". Ruth's feet just touch the ground so she can move along herself slowly -but she can go faster by pushing the bus along by walking behind it and using it for support.
And it has been a great time of year for bush walking - here on top of Mt Majura. Ruth herself does not do any bush walking - her role is to provide a running commentary from the backpack. Ruth is more and more confident up on both feet but does not yet take any unsupported steps by herself.
Maria has been visiting us and is here introducing Ruth to the pleasures of heisse schokolade in the national gallery members lounge. No wonder Ruth likes Maria.
We have a backlog of photos to share with you - there will be more to come after easter when we finally get internet at home.
