Easter Krokodil Attacks Folk Festival

Dear Gran,

Brendan's sister Cherie, and her bloke Gerard (the one who gave her that bear that appeared in all our Berlin photos of her) came and visited us for the weekend. We had a lovely time, very relaxing.

On one day we went to the Folk Festival. We saw lots of bands, some that we're already fans of, some new ones. Ruth mostly slept in the sling. Out of it, she was mesmerised by the flags up in the air...

... but managed to wrench her attention away enough to have some afternoon tea.

Cherie bought a couple of drums, and Ruth also had a testbeat. You can see she's all rugged up in the jacket Sean and Sandra gave her--- it was a pretty cold day.

Ruth sleeps well, at least at night. She usually wakes once for a midnight snack and a nappy change. She only has about three little sleeps during the day--- maybe two half-hour ones in the morning and a longer one in the afternoon. Lately she has started her night-time sleep at around five o'clock, which is disappointing for Brendan who misses out on his evening cuddles. If this continues I think he will be coming home at lunch time for more playing.

Below you can see Ruth mounting a crocodile attack, on the gift from my Berlin colleagues Oliver and Felix.

Much love,

Julie

Sun Days and Eis Nights

Dear Great Gran,
On Sunday morning, Julie and I re-established the old tradition of going for a weekend ride up a hill together with a friend or two. The morning started crisply but was warm by the time we reached the top of Mt Majura with Dan.

Now you might be wondering if you can fit a baby and a couple of bananas in the back of a cycle jersey or do you have to put the baby in a pannier (so as to avoid squashing the bananas)?

Well, neither as it turns out...

as Ruth was too pre-occupied with enjoying Maria's company to come with us. Here they are together contemplating nature at the Botanical Gardens.

Teresa recently sent us a gift that implies Ruth might grow up to share her parents love of a certain food. When we asked Ruth this, she said:

"Eis? Ja, gerne. Ich nehme zwei kugel Walnuss und ein kugel Omas Apfelkuchen, bitte."

much love
Brendan

Hippos for Pixies

Dear Great Gran,
Ruth has had more opportunities to try out more funny hats (even indoors- if only the insulation here was as good as in Berlin!) and so we have had more opportunities to laugh at her and call her names.

Here Pixie Sailor is being read the 'But Not The Hippopotamus' book by Gran.
You can tell the story has a nail-biting plot!
much love from
Brendan
