More frequent and severe storm events is one predicted outcome from global warming - and last nights storm was pretty severe! This morning we woke to hear that several buildings, including the entire uni campus, had closed due to storm damage. On my ride to work this morning, I experienced a huge volume of dirt over the road and paths that had been washed down from Mount Ainslie nature reserve. You can see the height of some of the water levels during the storm on this bicyle that was parked overnight by the lake:
